A lot of people have wondered the same thing. Is Senator Hope Uzodinma really in totally charge of what happens in Imo State, or is he just a pawn, remote controlled by the powers that reside in Abuja?
I noticed how uncomfortable Hope Uzodinma was, when he spoke to the Channels TV correspondent, and declared that he invited the military to invade Orlu his zone, which was where the crisis started from.
It was as if he was speaking from a script, knowing fully well, that it was politically suicidal, but held hostage by forces around him, that could see him out of office with just one phone call.
Yes, what is keeping Hope Uzodinma in Douglas House is but one phone call, and the Supreme Court, would pick up the Philip Umeadi file from where it had been deliberately left to gather dust, and Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha would be restored as the authentic govenror of Imo State.
Should such an eventually happen, Uzodinma would face another problem, that could even deny him is freedom, and that is the $12 million Port Harcourt contract scam, that has been weighing down on him even before he became governor, through his self acclaimed, Ben Johnson Way.
Hope Uzodinma may practically be a hostage.
Because of the possibility of that phone call, and the resultant consequences, Uzodinma will take the blame for the deployment of troops into Imo State.
He would take responsibility for the lives lost; which is probably why he has refused to acknowledge them, or send condolences to their families.
Because he knows what lies in stock for him, should he go against the puppet masters, he must become the enemy of his people, and take the blame for every experiment his handlers in Abuja may throw at Imo, in an effort to quell the situation in the state.
Uzodinma’s powers may be limited to running the day to day affairs of governance, appointment of commissioners, but over issues of security, Uzodinma may be answering, and taking orders from powers above.
