Yahaya Bello is the chosen one, attacks on Buhari and Tinubu may be arranged

by Maazi Obinna Akuwudike

In an article I wrote a few months ago, I observed the rising popularity of the govenror of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and stated that he might be President Muhammadu Buhari’s chosen come 2023.

Coming online today, to see several knocks he gave the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, I became more confident, that Yahaya Bello might be Buhari’s choice come 2023, and the whole charade, might just be to give the public a show, that Yahaya Bello is with the people.

Without a doubt, the Buhari administration is about the most unpopular in Nigeria’s history, as Nigerians have suffered more in these six years, than ever before, and it seems the president might still be dishing out more pain and suffering to the people.

Anybody seen to be stating this fact, becomes popular with the people, and that is the card I see being played with regards to Yahaya Bello.

With regards to his knocks on the former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, it is very obvious, even by body language, that Buhari is not very comfortable with the idea of Tinubu succeeding him.

As unpopular as Buhari’s administration might be, Tinubu’s leadership may not fare any better, and Nigerians will be very receptive of a person, with his eyes set on the presidency, who knocks the Buhari administration, as well as puts Tinubu in his place.

Yahaya Bello on his own cannot criticise President Muhammadu Buhari. For him to now come out publicly to do so, it could probably be a ploy to play him straight into the hearts of the people, so that when he eventually declares for the presidency, he would be an easier sale by the All Progressives Congress APC.

Whether Yahaya Bello can do a better job at managing Nigeria, is left for Kogi people to tell Nigerians, but an old video of Bello telling aggrieved Kogi people to report him to Donald Trump, doesn’t give much confidence that he would be a better bet for Nigeria.
