Okorocha, OZB, Uju, others May Lose APC Membership, Federal seats as Chike Okafor dumps Okorocha

With the way the APC revalidation exercise is going on in Imo State, there are strong indications, Senator Rochas Okorocha as well as three House of Representatives members may be partyless soon, if they fail to join in the exercise.

The membership Revalidation Exercise started last week in Imo State, with party loyalists coming to be revalidated and registered, across the entire wards in the state.

Senator Rochas Okorocha has yet to revalidate his membership of the party, at his Ogboko, Ideato South LGA ward. Also, three Federal Representatives, loyal to Okorocha, have not revalidated their membership of the party.

There are indications by their actions, that they may be in their way out of the party, with their refusal to participate in the exercise.

Already, Okorocha had hinted of the formation of a new Political arrangement, which may believe to be the formation of a new Political party, or defection to another party.

Former Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, and now Federal member Representing Isu, Nwangele, Nkwerre and Njaba, Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Okorocha’s former Principal Secretary, Hon Dr Paschal Obi, who now represents Ideato Federal Constituency, as well Hon Chima Uju Kingsley representing Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta, Oru West Fed Constituency, and who came into office through the Action Alliance (AA) before jumping to the APC, are amongst those yet to be revalidated.

Recall that the two factions within the party in the state, have been battling for supremacy.

While Okorocha and the three lawmakers are part of the Dan Nwafor led exco, Uzodinma on the other hand, back the leadership of Prince Marcon Nlemigbo.

Okorocha’s faction had refused to participate in the exercise, until the National arm of the party abide by the ruling of the court, which affirmed Nwafor as the rightful Executive of the party.

The National Body of the party, had taken sides with the Hope Uzodinma faction, which is believed to be the reason Okorocha and his faction are not participating in the exercise.

Should the exercise come to an end, without their participation, Okorocha and members of his faction, may seize to be card-carrying APC.

They however risk losing their seats in the coming election, if they cannot get a strong party to run with, should they leave the APC.

In another twist, Okorocha’s former Finance Commissioner, Chike Okafor, who how represents Okigwe South in the National Assembly, have taken sides with Uzodinma, turning his back at his political mentor Okorocha. Okafor has already revalidated his membership of the party, and urged his supporters to support Senator Hope Uzodinma and the Revalidation and Registration exercise.
