MUST IKEDI OHAKIM BE INSULTED AND ABUSED ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
For The Records : His Excellency Dr Ikedi Ohakim Was Governor Of Imo State Between 2007 And 2011. By This Official Record, He Deserves To Be Respected By Ndimo, Ndigbo And Indeed, Nigerians.
I Was Therefore Shocked To Read And See From Some Social Media Platforms That This Former Governor And Leader Has Been Subjected To Abuse, Insult And Bashing, Just Because He Officially Joined The All Progressive Congress, APC, Today (27/07/2021).
When Has Joining A Political Party Of Your Choice Become An Offence? For A Man Who Is In His 60’s, Dr Ikedi Ohakim Is Old Enough To Decide His Political Fate, Without Consulting Anybody. Even If He Was Woed To Join The APC, It Is Still Within His Right To Accept Or Reject.
Since He Has Accepted And Joined The APC, People Should Respect His Decision. He Doesn’t Owe Anybody Any Explanation For His Decision.
Again, Ikedi Ohakim Is A Comfortable Grandfather. I Feel Pained To See Little-Small Boys Old Enough To Be His Younger Sons Abuse Him On Social Media, Just Because He Officially Joined The All Progressive Congress, APC.
Well, Social Media Is A Leveller. I Won’t Beg You To Stop Abusing The Former Governor. Continue To Abuse Dr Ikedi Ohakim. But Bear In Mind That He Did Not Offend Anybody For Joining A Political Party Of His Choice. Nevertheless, One Thing Is Certain : Those Who Will Continue To Abuse Him On Social Media After Reading This Post, Will NEVER Grow To Attain His Present Age. And I Say A Big Amen This Prayer.
