Land Fraud: Uzodimma’s SA On Special Duties, Chinasa Nwaneri Reportedly Report to Police, Give Statement

The Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, seems set to bring anybody involved in the recent land grabbing incident reportedly involving some top government officials and businessmen to book.

It could be recalled that about 6 weeks ago, the Governor suspended and sacked the Imo Commissioner for Lands, Mr. Noble Atulegwu Abiaso, over misconducts and misuse of office as a commissioner for land within the period he occupied the office.

Noble’s reported inglorious activities at the Imo Ministry of lands prompted the Governor Hope to ensure his arrest and detention by the police in Owerri.

As at the press time, the sacked Imo Lands Commissioner, Noble is still cooling his feet in police custody.

Uzodimma has reportedly set aside any sentimental in his quest to expose and prosecute those involved in the land fraud.

Since the arrest and detention of Mr. Noble, the Governor has vowed to ensure that all those involved in the land grabbing saga are arrested and those lands illegally and forcefully acquired are retrieved and recovered.

Now following the recently launched ”Operation Return The Land You Grabbed From Imo State”, the Police in the state based on the instructions from the Governor to the Commissioner of Police to work in synergy with the office of the SA Land Recovery, the law enforcement has been going around dropping letters of invitation to those accused of land grabbing.

ThePressman in it report recently revealed that about few days ago, the Police extended their invitation letter to some members of the Imo State House of Assembly and some top government officials to come and clear their names from all forms of allegations concerning land grabbing.

It could be recalled in recent times that there has been circulating rumors that the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Special Duties, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, was arrested but it was confirmed to be untrue.

But today, being Thursday, Dec. 28th 2023, ThePressman reported that it’s source at the Police Command confirmed that Nwaneri has been to make a statement on the petition tendered against him.

According to ThePressman’s report, the Special Duties SA, Nwaneri, at about 9:38am on Thursday, Dec.28, went to Police and made his own statement.

According to ThePressman, Nwaneri was arrested as alleged but was later released at about 1:00 pm after 4 hours with the Policemen at the State Investigative Department (State CID) Owerri.

ThePressman reported that Nwaneri was requested by the Police to return to the command within the next few days for further investigation.
