Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma has raised alarm over an alleged smear campaign against his second-term ambition.
Uzodinma is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election in Imo state.
The Governor raised the alarm in a statement posted by his image handlers on the social media handle of the state.

We wish to bring to your attention a concerning resurgence of propaganda stories being disseminated by certain individuals and groups. These stories aim to undermine the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma. It is imperative to emphasize that these allegations are entirely baseless and lack any factual basis.
We are aware that these individuals and groups have planned to release a series of propaganda stories against the Governor, running until after the upcoming election. This campaign began with the alleged manhandling of the NLC president and currently includes a story titled “Uzodimma blocking the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu-Tinubu,” which, we want to clarify, the president never made such a statement.
It is evident that these political detractors and interlopers feel threatened by the remarkable achievements of Governor Hope Uzodimma and the overwhelming support for his re-election by the people of Imo State. We urge the public to exercise caution and dismiss these propaganda stories as they lack credibility.
