Celebrating Strength and Balance: NBA Women Forum Imo State’s Remarkable End-of-Year Event

In a spectacular display of resilience and unity, the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF) in Imo State, under the capable leadership of Chetachi Udeh, Esq., and Chinaka Sunday-Iherue, Esq., recently concluded their End-of-Year Event on the 9th and 10th of December 2023.

Kicking off with a Health Walk/Seminar themed “Fit Lifestyle for Female Lawyers,” the event showcased the determination of these remarkable women as they marched from the Bar Centre Magistrate Court Complex, Orlu Road, Owerri, to the Government House entrance and back to the plaza. The Health Talk by Dr. Chinwe Muomalu emphasized the importance of self-care for these legal Amazons who dedicate their lives to others.

The commitment to well-being continued with a Free Medical Tests session featuring the Optometry Department of Imo State University, Owerri. Ensuring their eyes were in optimal condition, the female lawyers took a moment to prioritize their health.

The festivities continued with a Thanksgiving Service, Luncheon, Induction of New Members, and an end-of-the-year Christmas Party held at the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Port Harcourt Road, Owerri. The annual Thanksgiving Service served as a reflection on their journey, expressing gratitude for the achievements and challenges overcome.

Barr. Mrs. Chinyere Ibe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Imo State, delivered a thought-provoking Luncheon Lecture on “Creating A Balance in Our Professional Lives as Daughters, Wives, and Mothers.” The insightful discourse aimed to guide these legal professionals in navigating the complexities of their multifaceted roles.

The impeccable organization of these events is credited to Dr. Ojiugo Chukwumaeze, Chairman of the 2023 End-of-Year Planning Committee, whose dedication ensured a seamless and memorable experience for the NBAWF members.
