The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday flagged off the hydrographic survey and dredging of the proposed sea route from Oguta lake-Orashi-Degema-Atlantic Ocean. The project which he described as a game changer for Africa, the nation, and the state, and an economic transformation project that will unlock the potential of Imo State and contribute to the growth of the country.

In his speech at the event, the Vice President emphasized the importance of infrastructure development in Nigeria and lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for his purposeful, wise, and creative leadership. He declared that the nation owes Gov. Uzodimma gratitude for bringing hope to the nation and sub-region and commended him for the project.

Prof. Osinbajo reiterated that the nation and Imo state will be much better with the style of leadership of Gov. Hope Uzodimma who has indeed transformed the state and has shown commitment towards making the state a hub for commerce and industry in the Southeast and Africa sub-region.

The hydrographic survey and dredging of the proposed sea route from Oguta lake-Orashi-Degema-Atlantic Ocean is expected to improve the economic prospects of Imo State by providing easier access to the Atlantic Ocean. This will make it easier for businesses to import and export goods, create jobs, and enhance the living standards of the people in the state.
