Unconfirmed reports has been floating around Imo State, that the Philip Umeadi suit, against Senator Hope Uzodinma may be coming up on Friday the 26th day of February 2021.
Recall that there was an almost similar case last month, that the case would be coming up on the 14th of January, exactly one year after Uzodinma removed Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha through the Supreme Court, but at the end, the case did not come up.
MaaziTV was reliably informed, that the case was not for the 14th of January as generally believed. A lot of people in Imo State, however believed that there were players in the background, trying to make sure the Supreme Court doesn’t hear the case.
However, with the entrance of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu into the matter, many analysts in the state, believe that whatever logjams that had been blocking the case, may soon be cleared up, and Uzodinma may have to face this case once and for all, to determine if he remains in office, or if he is sacked.
While we await concrete information to back the date, which is now floating around the state as the D-Day for the hearing of the case, Imo State is in a state of apprehension, as the people are wondering what could come out of the case before the Surpreme Court.
A greater population believe that in a free and fair ruling, Uzodinma, who have been shown by the Supreme Court, through it’s ruling on Uche Nwosu, not to be the candidate of the APC, should be removed, and replaced with Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, who by the initial judgement of the Supreme Court, came second in the Election.
There are belief that the Supreme Court is confused over how to swing the matter, as any action by them, that isn’t a sack of Uzodinma, would discredit the integrity of the court in the eyes of the people, and have rather kept the matter down for so long.
If indeed the case comes up on the 26th of February 2021, as rumoured around town, there is heightened chances, that Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha may return to office very soon.
However, many people are of the view, that Uzodinma could still have one or two tricks up his sleeves, and whatever he had over the Supreme Court over r the years, that have always helped him win at the Supreme Court, even when he loses at lower courts, may work for him again, and justice may be subverted.
