Okigwe Senate: Again Court sacks Ibezim, despite sacking Araraume

News reaching MaaziTV this day 6th of February 2021, has it that the Court of Appeal, have upheld the sack handed down to the APC candidate in the Okigwe APC Senate Primaries, Mr. Frank Ibezim.

Recall that the Supreme Court yesterday upheld the ruling of the appeal Court, upholding Ibezim as the authentic candidate of the party, in the Okigwe Senate Bye-election.

The Appeal Court today, sacked Ibezim over allegations of presentation of false results and documents.

Also recall that on the eve of the Bye-election, the Appeal Court had removed Araraume as the party’s candidate, while an Abuja High Court, had sacked Ibezim, barring him from holding any public office.

With the ruling, Ibezim may seek to upturn the ruling through the Supreme Court.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP, and All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, are also contesting that the APC should be disqualified totally, since the party did not have a clear candidate on the day of Election.

With the looks of things, the battle for who replaced the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu in the Senate, is far from over.

More details will be made available as it unfolds.
