Released Imo Lawmaker RE-Unites With Colleagues, Attends Speakers Media Parley
Interpretatively, Imo State House of Assembly may no longer invoke disciplinary actions against their colleague, and member representing Ohaji Egbema State Constituency Hon. Heclus Okoro, over alleged attempted plot to use weapon against the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chyna Iwuanyanwu during the presentation of the new speaker Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem.
This follows the presence of the said House Member at the media palley which the new speaker Rt. Hon. Emeziem had with some selected newspaper publishers in Imo last Thursday.
According to our reporter who covered the event, though, the said Okoro did not utter any word during the palley but he was captured hugging and exchanging pleasantries with his colleagues present at the palley.
Okoro who was arrested and detained by the police was said to have attempted using a long knife inside his walking stick to fight the Deputy Speaker during the presentation of Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem to the State government, an act which was condemned by his fellow colleagues as well as the executive arm of the Government.
Addressing the publishers, at the said media parley, the speaker Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem charged the media Houses to in the course of discharging their core duties, should as well, support the government through their media houses.
Describing Uzodinma as a man who has sincerely come to salvage and take Imo to that expected promised land, he urged Imo people to be patient adding that Uzodinma’s led administration would not fail.
In his submission, the majority leader of the house, and member representing Ikeduru State Constituency, Amb. Uche Ogbuagu revealed that Uzodinma’s administration would perform beyond Imo expectations adding that the Governor is prepared to govern the state given his policies in the state.
In his submission, the Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chyna Iwuanyanwu enjoined the media to be constructive in their criticisms pointing that as members of the fourth estate of the realm, they have the powers to make or mar the government.
Speaking to Lead after the parley, the member representing Owerri West in the State Assembly, Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi urged Imo people to be patient with the governor and urged the media to always ensure balance report
